Microsoft published a preview of SharePoint products and technologies 2010 technical  developer documentation. Archive white papers and SDK documentation. Not much, but interesting.

Novell released SUSE Studio 1.0 – a web tool that allows you to create Linux-based systems and appliances for example for VMWare or XEN. Great tool! Great work Nat.

Recently I wrote about my current spare time project WordPressUpdater. It’s purpose is to help with updating and backuping of multiple WordPress sites. It is still under development, but it will be available soon. At least beta version.

I am long term Windows developer (not only of course). I always tried to be fair and objective when I was talking about Microsoft, Linux, Open Source and such topics…  But today I came about this link. It was classical example of total ignorance that will lead to dead of company in a long terms. Not now, not tomorrow, but will die in a few years from now. I felt really sad while I was reading that lies. I know it is not about technology, it is about business and money . Thank you very much, I prefer different world.

To be smart is not enough these days. Our perception is limited to supplied information and its accuracy. And software project success raise and fails with accuracy and level of problem/domain specification.  Whenever I am faced with some task, I am asking myself: “Is it S.M.A.R.T.?”.  It does not matter whether I am describing task to someone else or I received this task from someone else.

I found a very nice quote from Ken Thompson and Dennis Ritchie, fathers  of UNIX, that I really like:

A powerful operating system for interactive use need not be expensive either in equipment or in human effort. We hope that users of Unix will find that the most important characteristics of the system are its simplicity, elegance, and ease of use.

There is no need to say anything more to that… That is why I prefer Linux and other UNIX based systems.

While working with PHPMyAdmin I saw following message on my screen.

Well, I was afraid what is wrong, but it is very simple. You are out of space! So hurry and clean up your disks before something fail (and setup an notifications or SMTP agent on it ).

Adobe Flex Builder was one of tools, that I wanted to run native after my switch to Ubuntu desktop. Adobe released alfa version of  Flex builder build on top of Eclipse IDE.  Because my workstation is amd64, it is not so easy to install as on x86 architecture.

Yesterday Wolfram|Alpha launched it’s grid computing platform running on thousands of nodes all controlled using Mathematica. I was interested in Wolfram’s work since I first read some of his papers and books. Anyway you can watch them in action over on justin.tv.
