January 4th, 2010 by Martin

After quite long time I manage to save some time for my WordPress. There was a big gab between versions and there were some new releases of WP. So to be short I updated two public plugins:

There are still two public plugins to update and also I am thinking about releasing some private plugins for free.

Just another smooth upgrade to next Ubuntu release

November 1st, 2009 by Martin

Yep, I upgraded my workstation to Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala Linux. Upgrade process was as usually smooth without any troubles.  I again put myself into risk by upgrading over remote connection using VNC. But no problem at all. Just better performance and more polished desktop. Ubuntu just rocks. Thank you guys!

London Stock Exchange Lesson

October 8th, 2009 by Martin

I have to say that I am not surprised by news about London Stock Exchange. It is just an example of enterprise software status these days. It is shame that someone is promoting 100% availability. It is just not possible… 99,8% maybe but definitely not on top of MS SQL 2000. Small quiz: Why companies like Amazon or Google are not using Microsoft technologies? I think it is not a question of money for licenses ;) .

Microsoft has its head deep in sand!

June 18th, 2009 by Martin

I am long term Windows developer (not only of course). I always tried to be fair and objective when I was talking about Microsoft, Linux, Open Source and such topics…  But today I came about this link. It was classical example of total ignorance that will lead to dead of company in a long terms. Not now, not tomorrow, but will die in a few years from now. I felt really sad while I was reading that lies. I know it is not about technology, it is about business and money ;) . Thank you very much, I prefer different world.

May 22nd, 2009 by Martin

Bydleni IQ is a fresh Internet magazine related to architecture, living and design. OpenLab Ltd. mission was to create website using existing graphical design by company’s designer. We decided to s WordPress as platform for this unique site, mainly because of speed of development as well as lowering project price for this starting project. Customization was quite a challenge because of complex design and structure. Besides visual customizations, we developed two custom plugins for adds and related content.

Microsoft released a new programming language

May 12th, 2009 by Martin

I am happy to see that Microsoft responses to multi core challenges with a new weapon – a new programming language targeted towards concurrency named Axum (previously code named Maestro). As Erlang lover and .NET developer, I am really curious what is behind and looking forward to play with it (it will be hard job to convince me that Erlang  is not best in this area ;) ).
